The Coombe Keynes History Project Needs You!

A important part of the CKHP is that we continue to record the living history of the village. So, if you have a connection with the village, we’re keen to hear from you.

We’re interested in names, dates and important events but more than that, we’re keen to capture personal memories and anecdotes of day to day life in the village; the kind of colourful detail that can’t be mined from census information, newspapers or land registries.

We’ve put together a short questionnaire to help you record your time in the village. It can be downloaded here or you can fill in the form below, or just send us a few lines to history@coombekeynes.com.

Photos are always welcome too. Please send anything you’re happy to share to the email address above.

A few tips for filling in the form below.

  • These questions are just a guide to help you tell us your story
  • Be as fulsome or brief as you like with your answers and feel free to skip sections entirely
  • Some of your answers might naturally overlap between questions; don’t feel the need to repeat yourself
  • Any story, however, seemingly insignificant is welcome: often personal anecdotes are the most powerful way of preserving the village’s collective memory
