Please join us for a Harvest Supper & History Night on Saturday 23rd September from 6.30pm.
We’ll be launching the “Coombe Keynes History Project” and to celebrate, we’ll start the evening with a brief talk from Peter Brachi, “Where did they go? Following the village population pendulum over the last two hundred years”.
After the talk we’ll be serving up a special ‘Ten Mile Menu’ featuring local & seasonal produce sourced from within 10 miles of Coombe Keynes.
There will also be a chance to peruse a preliminary display of historical maps, news articles and photos and share your thoughts on the creation of a new history display for the church.
We’re also asking everyone to contribute an item to display for one night only in our “Pop Up Museum of the People”. Please bring an item (or items) that represents some aspect of your life in Coombe Keynes today or in the past; it could be a clay pipe dug up in the garden, or an old wi-Fi booster to get signal through thick cottage walls, or a photo of your house when you first moved in. Feel free to be as creative or abstract as you like: it just has to mean something to you!
We’re not asking for payment up front but would appreciate donations after the event – we’re recommending £12pp (please adjust as you see fit for concessions).
We look forward to seeing you there – please RSVP if you can come.
BYOB!
